Uh-uh. NUH-UH!!! Nickbow, you did NOT do what I think you just did. And to think I didn’t know until now. How COULD you?! How could you get rid of Riven, probably one of the most interesting guys in Winx Club? Not only that. How did you get rid of him? You made him and Musa, my favorite ever couple, break up! Indefinitely? You’d better hope not. You don’t know how I screamed. And I’m still screaming. What were you thinking? Riven and Musa have been together since the beginning, and NOW you break them up? You just had to get the fans attached, and then you just ship him off?! Unless this is all part of your plan. Make him go away for half a season, and then he comes back changed for good. Good enough to be with Musa again. I mean, do you really want all your hard work to go to waste? All the moments they broke up and then got back together, Riven improving each time? What happened to “Stronger side by side, yeah we’re better in harmony-ny. I know I belong with you. Your music sets me free.”(“One To One“)? That moment marked him changing, at least a little. He learned guitar just for Musa!

Ugh, at least I’m not alone. But, I have faith that you will bring Riven back because he is such an important character, and Orlando will go once Riven gets back. ORLANDO, the MINSTREL. Speaking of him, it’s a no from me. No one will replace Riven but Riven himself. I pray that Orlando is just a minor character like Roy was. Or maybe he’s evil. Please be that. But honestly, he seriously looks like Brandon 2.0 to me. And that just means Brandon with longer hair. UGH, I HATE HIM!!! Please get rid of him by the end of season 7 at most!

And I have some ideas on how to bring Riven back like you meant to do it all along(or maybe you did), Nickbow.
- Make him the antagonist for Season 7 or 8, breaking Musa’s heart. Then, in one of the end episodes for Season 7, just as he’s about to kill Musa, she cries a single tear, and he remembers all the times he made her cry and goes back to normal. In the experience, he should’ve changed, and they get back together again.
- In one of Season 7 or 8’s episodes, put Musa in danger where none of her friends or Orlando can help her, and have a stranger on a motorcycle with a helmet swoop in and rescue her. He would try to get away after she’s safe, but she uses her powers to knock of his helmet, revealing that it’s Riven. Since he failed to save her in the episode they broke up, this should make sense in the process of them getting back together. And since in this case Orlando couldn’t save her, he surrenders her over to Riven.
- Make Orlando the antagonist at the end of Season 7, showing he was hiding his evil all along, and have Riven come back with newly honed abilities and ultimately defeat him, earning Musa back. Riven’s personality should be altered for the positive, also.
- You could always just bring him back, changed, and have him do something huge for Musa, making her pick between Riven and Orlando. But to accomplish that, you should make Orlando and Musa have problems too. If not, maybe she could just not like him because he’s too perfect. Remember how she fell for Riven? Not because he was perfect. Because he was mysterious and hard to get. She liked that.
Plus, Nickbow, many fans are upset. You know it’s best to bring Riven back and have him and Musa get back together. It’s not like it’s not believable for him to come back. He didn’t die like Nabu did. All I’m asking is to bring Riven back with Musa. If you want to get rid of someone, get rid of Sky. Please. Thank you. I am comforted only in the fact that Riven’s goodbye suggested temporary.

Please forgive me, but I don’t expect Riven to come back and I don’t want him to. I think their breakup was actually long overdue. Musa has seriously considered dumping him at least once per season since they got together. Their whole relationship seems to follow a pattern of Riven being emotionally abusive/unavailable, Musa threatening to break up with him, and Riven apologizing and promising to do better. The part where he actually does better never seems to happen, though.
Season 5 is the notable exception here, and I feel like this is where most of the good will toward Riven comes from. Maybe I’m wrong. Maybe the two of them had some good times that I’ve just forgotten about (and if that’s so, I hope you’ll remind me), but it seems like One to One is frequently used as proof that it’s “not all bad” between them. It sure feels like the singular high point in their otherwise bad history, but “not all bad” is not really something you should have to say about a relationship. And when I think of Musa and Riven, One to One is not the song that comes to mind. I think of Heart of Stone, from season 4; that’s sort of their “theme song” to me. And it’s about breaking up. So… yeah, I think they made the right move in season 6.
As for Riven possibly coming back… It wouldn’t upset me, but I don’t think it’s a good idea. Even your own ideas for his return mentioned a need for Riven to change, which sounds like a grudging admission that he’s just not right for her. I, too, would accept his return as long as he changed his ways, but that’s no different than saying that Musa would better off with somebody else (which I think is true). I haven’t started season 7 yet, so I can’t say anything about Orlando, but it sounds like that’s where the show is going. Sounds promising.
Oh dear. What have I done? I posted a decidedly anti-Riven comment in response to an impassioned pro-Riven article (I should have known better; this is something that one should never ever do), and now there has been three months of complete radio silence from this site. Is this my fault? Because I’m starting to feel responsible.
I’m sure it’s not your fault, Riven is Winx’ Disney Princess Pocahontas equivalent when it comes to the major questions of who he belongs with, what he’s to do, where he’s going and why he’s doing it, this is why Pocahontas is seen less than Mulan in the DP franchise, they’re hot topics and handling them is a hot topic in and of itself. Since we know Jared only shared 1 dance with blue haired Alice and she wasn’t with him in s5 and he wasn’t fighting alongside her in s7, we can assume nothing came of it leaving him free for Musa in season 8. I’ve always preferred Jared to Riven anyway. Riven is a mule (to put it nicely), Jared treats Musa with respect, didn’t force his way, has an interest that’s different from Musa (writing) that makes him useful with the angle of superheroes (someone’s got to be the public relations department, that’s him) but unlike Riven, he WANTS to be with Musa and would change for her and probably ask HER for music lessons if he wanted them instead of causing a fight with her just because he wanted to surprise her.
I finally watched season 7, so I can comment on Orlando now. Of course, there’s not much to say. For all the hype, Orlando was nobody of any consequence. He was in only two episodes, and we can all rest assured that he will never appear again.

@Jacsn what do you think of Jared? He appeared to be a much better fit for Musa (and since he wasn’t with Alice in s7 or s5, i think he was just being nice to her at the end of s2 waiting for Musa). Jared is everything Riven isn’t (kind,listens to her, doesn’t treat her like an object, more the male equivalent of her but the opposite personality whereas Riven had her personality but not her interests which doesn’t mix at all.) and they kinda teased back then that Jared would be Musa’s second chance eventually (Musa blushed after flowers & a kiss) not to mention Jared would make a good lyricist for her if he enjoys music like she does and he’s also capable of being a good PR for the Winx (his weapon of choice is the most influential one, a pen!)
@summerautumn I’ll be honest: I had to look Jared up after I read your comment. It turns out I do vaguely remember him from season 2. So I hadn’t really thought about Jared at all (before your comment, anyway). He seems fine, but he also seems like a minor character from five seasons ago.
Personally, I was glad Musa didn’t get a new boyfriend in season 7. Even if she and Riven were wrong for each other, they had been together for years. I feel like the show treated their breakup (and the aftermath) with the weight it deserved.
What I’m saying is this: If they’re going to bring Jared back in season 8, they’re going to have to do it right. Treat him like a new character, complete with introductions and everything. If they do that (and do it well), I’m game.

I agree with her and realistic half of the fanbase, this was long overdue. It needed to happen, Riven was more of a jerk than Nex appeared to be and unlike Nex willing to change for Aisha instead of thinking her as an “angry witch” and leaving, Riven couldn’t change for three seconds without a serious attitude adjustment and therapy- especially therapy- just to make Musa happy. He only ever took a guitar lesson and was slightly less angry. In season 6- reset yet again. She doesn’t have to a guy (and thank goodness in s7, she stays single if you’ve been watching, Orlando was just another Roy, let’s hope season 8 gives her someone who is like Orlando and Jared combined, Andy perhaps?)
I believe Riven and Musa should be together because he left so he could become a better fighter because he wants to protect her. Musa and Riven both had alot of history and that’s what truly made them real unlike most of the winx characters. Riven is still not used to not having problems about or with girls general because of when his mother abandoned him and he has yet to get over that which is why he fails in his relationship. He wants to become stronger for Musa so that she won’t leave him like his mother had.
Musa and Riven do belong together because over and over again they try to tell themselves they can never be more than friends and they can’t. What didn’t kill them made them stronger and their love for each other will do that, so believe they have a really good chance of still being together. The song they sung together was to show that they’ll find there way back home and home is where the heart is.
Also I think that Riven is only gone temperarely because Aisha is single and Musa is her best friend, so it shows that they wanted more girl on girl bonding time, and the winx relationships get in the way of all the winx members.
Musa and Riven belong together it’s just not there time yet. Maybe if Riven come back Musa and him can go and visit Musa mother, or she can come visit him in a dream to help Riven face his fear of the girl he loves leaving him.
OK I can now see that u guys a just jerks who don’t even try to understand a character’s personnality before passing jubgement. So let me educate u all so pay close attention OK! time for riven101; riven from the very beginning has shown obvious signs of insecurity and inability to express his self. Riven has always accounted for his mistakes and shown obvious signs of change but u can’t expect someone to change completely that’s impossible. And I think you’ve bad mouthed him enough what about musa did u forget how she is drawn to guys and how riven has tried to be the only guy for her but failed if anyone needs to change it’s musa she can’t keep expecting him to change every time see someone who does something to please her, then tell why on earth did she like him in the first place if she just wanted a perfect prince, from what I saw he has never hidden his fleas and changes the bad ones so she has no excuse. Riven is by far the most flexible and emotional in torch character that many of winx fan have been awaiting his return, whether or not u agree with me winx is complete without him no matter what replacements is kept it won’t be the same. But I agree that they should not end up a couple riven deserves someone who can understand him and musa needs someone who can meet her high expectations.

Sorry guys. I think Riven should be back too. Love is not perfect or are the persons. What matter is, are they perfect as a couple and for me they were! They are well matched and yes, I know Riven is flawed. For me what interesting will be to see how Rainbows brings back the wrong guy and creates a new image of him. He went to hone him. I would love to see what he has developed into. And personally I dont think Riven won’t return. Because Riven is one of the important characters from the start, one of the specialist. Rainbow can’t terminate a character so bluntly as it was done in season 6. Eliminating a specialist is more like eliminating a fairy. So, I am hoping for Riven to return in season 8 with a brand new personality and I will be cheering for Musa and Riven. 🙂

As much as I would like them together, I’ve come to believe that It’s Musa that doesn’t deserve Riven. I do want him to come back, but not just to get back together with Musa, but to be his own strong guy character. Maybe he could even serve as more of a big brother character to Musa, to help her get through her not biased by any of her friends.
I personally agree that they shouldn’t get back together, however I think Riven shouldn’t leave the show for good and it wasn’t entirely his fault. I actually feel like Musa is more to blame for their last breakup. As of season 4 Riven genuinely changed. After what happened with Andy and Queen, Riven really turned around and became a better person even while alot was going on, like Riven’s best friend dying. (Not to mention, Riven actually had a pretty good reason to be jealous of Andy in the first place, with Musa constantly testing the boundaries of there relationship, by mooning over Andy all the time.) Yet he still decided to open up and trust her. However it was too late she had already stopped trusting him. That’s why she irrationally assumed that he was cheating on her in season 5, instead of just point blank asking him. Also Musa feels justified in being jealous of ‘blond fairy girl’ when in season 4, she got mad at Riven for being jealous of Andy. How is that fair at all? In season 6 Riven was just trying to get strong enough to protect Musa, with witches attacking each semester who can blame him? Yet people are always calling him out for being the bad guy. Sure he made some mistakes in the past, but still no one gives him a chance or even tries to understand. Not to mention the winx are not exactly supportive of Riven and Musa together. No wonder Riven feels inadequate all the time. No wonder he left. My personal opinion is Musa got worse, Riven got better and now it is Musa that no longer deserves him.

For all they’ve been through, I think Riven should come back, They truly needed a time of their own. It was good that Musa didn’t find anyone in season 7. Now Riven must come back changed. With a good training not only physical, but psycological too. And we could know more about his past and why it was so difficult for him to be pleasent in some cases.
In addition, if Musa hasn’t fell in love for anyone yet, it is because she still loves Riven, deep inside. After he comes back, I think Musa will be a little reluctant, but she’ll see that he is now a better person and they’ll make up.
I appreciate this whole entire post and I agree wholeheartedly. BRING BACK RIVEN! And I would love to have the first scenario to bring back Riven. That would BREAK-MY-HEART with shining pieces of love and excitement.

I agree with you that they should just make him better and keep him like that and sure them having a small harmless arguement is cool but not too much like before. I think that them taking riven away made the show a bit dry. Now for the first girl who commented on how they shouldnt get back together clearly didnt see their connection. Riven would see her like she was a goddess. They did have amazing moments. And some moments it was hard to see because everyone focused on bloom and sky or others but she really did love him as well as he did to her. I hate orlando honestly. I would see the show and riven and musa would help me woth my depression and now that they broke up the show isnt the same anymore… im back with depression and back to my old self. They really were a perfect couple. And i laughed how you said to break bloom and sky 😂. But yeah i agree. The show just isnt the same without him. They can always change him to be better.
I agree that riven should come back and I’m looking foword to it, but I don’t think they should get back together. Riven has changed a lot for musa sack while musa has do nothing, his been trying to prove him self to her since season1 that at a time he looked pitiful. Muse seems to take interest in any guy that gives her attention that riven began to fill insecure about her as a result lashes out, I think that was what lead to departure. I don’t think musa appreciated riven enough I mean no matter I much a person changes it’s impossible to become a perfect boyfriend. I think musa’s expectations are to high and unreal. Musa should get her head out of the cloud before she loses him for good.
Revin and musa are my favourite😍 couple too . I just love them.and am very happy to find someone who love them like me. I do know that their relationship had faced a lot of struggle .but, for all the seasons musa never gave up on revin , until their breakup . She was even afraid of loosing him and he too was . I do feel musa still has feelings for him as they were together for so long . Please do separate them forever . It will really break all their fans . And the chemistry between them is interesting too . Please make revins attitude change as he was trying to do a bit changes in him for musa and bring him back .he belongs to be in winx ….

Sonic Singer, have you heard? If not, it’s time for a dramatic drum roll, because season 8 is coming and Riven. Is. Back. I’ll approach this with cautious optimism, but I want to hear what you think. Valtor is also back, apparently. I’m not sure what to make of that one.
Are you serious?! Where did you get this info? I’m shocked right now, to be honest. Valtor coming back is a little iffy… But I have to admit I’ve been missing Riven.
I got this info from germansirenix.blogspot.com; they have several posts about Riven’s return, but the strongest evidence is in the post about the “Festa del Cinema,” where there’s actual footage of an episode. You won’t see much, but the audio’s in English, and it does feature the characters discussing Riven’s return.
